Horseshoe bend is one of the most photographed sections of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. This iconic location is just a 5 minute drive from Page Arizona. My friends and I drove to the Horseshoe Bend after a lunch break from our Antelope Canyon tour and Lake Powell Kayaking. This infamous hairpin turn on the Colorado River can be seen from a perch 1,000 feet above, providing what is arguably the most spectacular view of the river.

The parking lot and the start of the trail are very close to the highway. We arrived about 20-30 minutes before the sunset, but the hike was easy and only took about 15 minutes. There must’ve been about 40 people when we got there. Luckily we made it just in time to capture some stunning moments of this iconic place.

Again, I recommend bringing the most wide angle lens you have. I took these photos with my GoPro Hero 4 Silver. The wide FOV lens on the GoPro cameras will do a very good job to adequately capture the grand scene of this landscape.
